Castle Rock Historical Society & Museum’s Monthly Presentation: Colorado Before 1876

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the nation and the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s statehood. In honor of this celebration, retired local history teacher, John Berry will give a presentation on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, on what was happening in our area before 1876 while Colorado was still just a territory. Come learn about the explorers that came through here, like David Kellogg who named our majestic landmark, Castle Rock. In case this isn’t enough history for you, join us on March 12, 2026, to hear about what happened around here after 1876. The presentations are at 7:00 pm at the Philip & Jerry Miller Library located at 100 S. Wilcox St. Castle Rock, CO 80104. Contact the Castle Rock Museum for more information at museum@castlerockhistoricalsociety.org or 303-814-3164.
